Benjamin Lindsay, MS, RN, CCRN-CMC, PCCN, NPD-BC, NEA-BC, FADLN (they/them) is a nurse, educator, and advocate with expertise spanning critical care, clinical instruction, and nursing professional development. Since earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Nazareth College in 2017, Benjamin completed a Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Nursing Education in 2022. They hold multiple national board certifications, including Critical Care Registered Nurse with Cardiac Medicine subspecialty (CCRN-CMC), Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN), Nursing Professional Development–Board Certified (NPD-BC), and Nurse Executive Advanced–Board Certified (NEA-BC).

Benjamin serves as the Senior Nursing Professional Development Specialist for the Adult Critical Care Service at the University of Rochester Medical Center and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree with a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) focus at St. John Fisher University. A Fellow of the Academy of Diversity Leaders in Nursing (FADLN), they are passionate about advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and health equity within the nursing profession. Benjamin is actively engaged in professional leadership through service. Benjamin is committed to developing inclusive nursing environments, fostering professional growth, and amplifying LGBTQIA+ voices in healthcare. Benjamin most recently contributed as an author for LGBTQIA+ in Nursing: Volume 1.

I am a contributing aither to LGBTQIA+ in Nurinsg. LGBTQIA+ in Nursing (Transformative Leadership Revolution, LLC; July 21, 2026) breaks a long silence in the profession’s story. LGBTQIA+ nurses have always been present, at the bedside, in the classroom, in the boardroom, caring for others while quietly deciding how much of themselves was safe to bring to work. This anthology gathers their true stories: critical care nurses, educators, administrators, and scholars whose journeys do not rhyme, because there is no single story of an LGBTQIA+ nurse. With a foreword by Dr. Jimmy A. Reyes, the collection is a declaration that representation is not decoration, it is clinical, and that nursing grows stronger when nurses bring their whole selves to the work.
